IndusBar COMMITTEES
Membership in IndusBar of Georgia allows you to become involved
with several active committees that address the needs of Georgia's
growing South Asian bar and South Asian community. Each committee
is steered by sitting members of the governing board of IndusBar
and meets to organize IndusBar events and provide services to the
membership and the community. Participation in the committees is
a way for members to take an active role in IndusBar's agenda while
building relationships and goodwill. Below is a list of the various
IndusBar committees:
COMMUNITY SERVICE COMMITTEE
IndusBar's Community Service Committee explores ways to assess the
legal needs of the South Asian community in the Georgia area and
to serve as a bridge between the community and the Georgia area
legal community. Community Service Committee members will be also
be instrumental in drafting public service announcements and public
relations statements on behalf of IndusBar. If you are interested

ATTORNEY OUTREACH COMMITTEE
IndusBar' s Attorney Outreach Committee will be charged with increasing
the awareness of IndusBar among the Georgia legal community. In
addition to promoting the professional development of the South
Asian Legal Community through networking and event planning, the
Committee will work closely with other IndusBar committees such
as the Lecture Series and Mentoring Committees to provide avenues
for Georgia attorneys to take interest in IndusBar. The Committee
will seek to increase membership and attorney involvement in IndusBar
and provide feedback from the legal community to the IndusBar Governing

MENTORING COMMITTEE
IndusBar's Mentoring Committee will explore opportunities to provide
mentors and mentoring services to the South Asian legal community,
including young lawyers, law students and younger students who may
have a future in the law. Committee members will be responsible
for developing programs that offer guidance and mentorship for South
Asian law students and young lawyers. In addition, committee members
will be serve as liaisons with South Asian Student Associations
in the Georgia metropolitan areas and invite participation from
mid-level and senior South Asian attorneys. If you are interested

WEBSITE COMMITTEE
IndusBar' s Website Committee holds primary responsibility for constructing
a user-friendly website that accurately reports upcoming events
and newsworthy items. Committee members will be also responsible
for creating and maintaining a members only section of the website
containing contact information for members. The committee will work
closely with Attorney Outreach Committee to ensure that e-mail inquiries
and membership sign-ups are promptly processed , logged and addressed.
All advertisements and postings for other South Asian organizations
must have the prior approval of the IndusBar Interim Governing Board
and, post-elections, the elected IndusBar Governing Board. If you

LECTURE SERIES COMMITTEE
IndusBar' s Lecture Series will provide a forum for experienced
and high profile South Asian legal professionals to meet and discuss
issues of interest and relevance to the South Asian bar. Committee
members will be responsible for locating potential speakers, extending
invitations to speakers, and arranging and promoting monthly lectures
on a variety of topics at convenient venues across the city. The
Lecture Series committee will also explore the possibility of securing
